I’ve never published a book before. What is the process?

When you reach out to Rylan, one of our representatives will first talk to you about your goals of publishing and will walk you through the submission process. Once your first materials are received and reviewed, the representative will guide you every step of the way, through to publishing and promotion. We understand that publishing can be a daunting, time-consuming endeavor. That’s why we work hard to make your part easy.

Generally speaking, how long does it take from manuscript submission to publication?

On average, the vast majority of projects are completed within six months after submission of materials, but Rylan can work with you to fast track the process if you want it done faster. Even with the lengthiest and most content-rich textbooks, it is rare for the process to take more than one year.

How much control will I have over the book design?

You have complete control over the cover design and the book. Our designers and illustrators will work with you closely to make sure the finished book is just like you want. Even though our editors will take care of most of the leg work, the textbook will be executed according to your creative vision.

What if I need to update some of the content at the last minute?

That’s never a problem. We specialize in last-minute changes and edits. We want you to be 100% satisfied with your book. That’s why we let you make changes virtually right up until publication.

How is the price of my textbook determined?

Rylan’s textbooks are priced to be competitive with used textbooks, and so your textbook will be priced according to trending rates. Your Rylan representative will explain pricing in full before your book is published.

How is my textbook printed?

Your textbook is proudly printed in the U.S. using the highest quality materials, including acid-free paper.

Will my textbook be available in digital format?

Yes. Your textbook will be available as an e-book on Rylan’s E-Reader platform.

How can I register for an online course?

Students can register for the course or supplementary content using the instructions and credentials included with the purchased book.

What is the standard time frame for shipments on printed books?

Typical orders are processed within a day and shipment is three days flat rate to anywhere in the United States. Expedited shipping options are also available with next day delivery available in most states.

Can I access the course material on any device?

Yes, you can access our LMS platform on your laptop, tablet or smart phone.
